OBJECTIVE WAMSI

Ministry of Minority Affairs, Government of India for initiating the Project in the year 2009 in close consultation with National Informatics Centre (NIC), a premier Government of India organization. NIC is an e-Governance Technology Partner at all levels of Governance in India since 1976.

ADVANTAGE

Introduce Efficiency in various processes of information delivery, transparency in sharing up-to-date information to the public on web-platform and to help in generating optimum revenue for the welfare of the weaker sections of the society in conformity with the noble concept of Waqf. Satellite Imageries driven Geographic Information System (GIS) based on GPS Coordinates of the vertices of Immovable Waqf Properties is seamlessly integrated with WAMSI, which helps in identifying the encroachments (if any) over the period of time.

SOCIAL IMPACT

As per the central concept of the Waqf, the Income generated from Waqf Properties should be utilized for the welfare of the needy, marginalized and under-privilege sections of the society in the name of Almighty. Therefore, if the revenue is generated optimally with the objective of maximizing it, out of well managed Waqf Properties and put to best use like creation of Institutions such as Hospitals, Dispensaries, Universities, Colleges, Schools, Skill Development Centers besides maintaining religious institutions (viz., Mosques, Madarsas, Darghahs, Burial Grounds, etc) then most of the financial & social problems faced by needy, marginalized and under-privilege sections of the society, will be weeded out.

PROCESS RE-ENGINEERING

WAMSI System is designed, developed, enhanced and maintained on the basis of best practices followed in various State/UT Waqf Boards in India after re-engineered workflows.

SHOW CASE

A first hand experience of WAMSI System can be had on the Public Interface http://wamsi.nic.in/ for searching and knowing the current status of the Waqf Properties either through location search or their unique Waqf IDs.
